Rowen was the most successful herd sire of recent years, producing a string of high yielding, prize-winning milkers with superb udders. He was the son of CH. Rowena, who  was a Royal Show “Best in Show” winner, and won her Championship and Breed Championship  as a first kidder when giving 7½ kilos of milk . As a second kidder she yielded in excess of 8½  kilos under show conditions but was never officially milk recorded.

In the Charnocks herd Rowen sired, amongst others, R182  Bronwen BrCh, RM215 Catrin BrCh, RM222 Blythe BrCh  and RM158 Brazen who together with their daughters and grand-daughters now form the entire herd. Used for one season only in the Woldsway herd he sired RM207 Crisiant (4.57%fat,2.59% protein) and RM196 Creuddylad (4.32% fat,2.95%protein) - these two Woldsway goats can be seen on the British Toggenburg Society website in the photo gallery (page 4).

Atomic originates from probably the most consistent show-winning family of the early nineties. His dam, CH. Annatara, was awarded more than 20 CCs and was reserve to her half sister, Annacicone, on numerous occasions. Recorded as a first kidder Annatara yielded 1445 kilos in 365 days at 4.25% butterfat and 2.8% protein.

Atomic's milking daughters have inherited the well shaped udders which have been a feature of his family and he has consistently improved both udders and teats. He achieved his Sire of Merit, having five daughters who have all been awarded stars, Q stars or recorded lactations in excess of 1300 kilos as first kidders.  He has exceptionally sound feet and legs and seems able to pass these on to his progeny. Although from a white mother, Atomic himself is brown and white and put to a British Toggenburg female throws correctly marked breed section offspring.

Bradwen is the twin brother to CH. RM231 Charnocks Branwen Q*2BrCh. His Dam RM182 Charnocks Bronwen *1 BrCh was, herself, a prolific show winner and high yielder. Full details of both these females appear on the Champions and Breed Champions pages.

Bradwen himself has exceptional length, topline, temperament and overall soundness of conformation coupled with noticeable dairy quality. His first milking daughter AR266 Charnocks Bronelen Q*3 yielded in excess of 8.5 kilos as a first kidder, giving the highest yield at every show attended and as a second kidder gave in excess of 10 kilos. His other daughter in the Charnocks herd, the first kidder Charnocks Breezy, consistently gave 8 kilos throughout her first Summer and is set to record a first lactation in excess of 2000 kilos.

Brenin is the son of CH. RM231 Charnocks Branwen Q*2 BrCh who gained her Championship as a first kidder. Branwens full details appear on the Champions page.

Brenin's paternal grand-dam was CH. RM162 Cynfelin Collette Q*3 BrCh. who became a Champion as a second kidder when yielding in excess of 7.5 kilos of milk at recognised shows. Her recorded lactation for this year was 1620 kilos at 3.4% butterfat and 2.6% protein.

 Brenin was a male of substance with exceptionally clean markings, excellent conformation and a superb temperament. He was awarded 2 BCCs and one Reserve Best In Show on his only two show outings  and was then exported to Belgium as a 2 year old. His first daughters, produced when used as a kid and buckling in this country, are just beginning to milk. From these Brenin seems to be producing consistently large, exceptionally sound milkers who have very good udders and high yields.
